![]() There are big boss fights, even bigger explosions, and hordes of enemies to slaughter as you see fit. Village thrives on that action, and while the first half is a slower, more horror-focused experience, the latter half gives that up for an action game that fires on all cylinders. A big reason why? Village leans into the chaotic action of Resident Evil 4 and 5, handing you plenty of powerful guns that you can use to pop heads with ease. ![]() The first run will still feel tense, and there are some horrifying moments, but overall the atmosphere isn't as unsettling. If, like me, you were also petrified by Resident Evil 7 and couldn't muster the courage to defeat the Baker family, then rest assured that Village is a far less terrifying experience. As he explores the titular village, you'll fight lycans, zombies, and more with all sorts of guns. Resident Evil Village continues the journey of Ethan Winters and his unlucky hands. If you're after more horror action, then F.E.A.R has very good kicks alongside its spooky vibes. What else should I be playing: Resident Evil 7 is much more horror, but it still gives you a big ol' flamethrower to burn some zombies. Resident Evil Village Where can I buy it: Steam It's the complete opposite of Superhot's near-constant slow-mo, but it makes you feel equally badass.Ģ4. You won't take damage as long as you simply keep moving, so it's all about chaining stunts together to close the distance between enemies and take them down before they land a single shot. Severed Steel can feel disorienting at first, but it's rather forgiving. Oh yeah, you have an arm cannon! It does big damage, and Severed Steel's destructible voxel arenas (am I saying "voxel" enough?) become your playground when you start blasting through walls. As you shoot your guns and arm cannon, bodies and walls will explode in a glorious shower of destruction. As you run around each mission while pulling off stunts and completing objectives, you shoot voxel dudes with their voxel guns that you pick up on the go. ![]() Wall runs, somersaults, dolphin dives, slick slides: if you want it, Severed Steel has it. Kicking off with a newbie to the list, Severed Steel is all about sick stunts. For more fast-paced shooting, check out Turbo Overkill and Neon White further down on this list. What else should I be playing: If you're willing to focus more on the stunts, then Mirror's Edge has plenty of first-person freerunning to enjoy. ![]() Since I don't have an Omen key on my laptop keyboard, (I only have Omen Key on my external keyboard ) I tried re-mapping F12 to Home, as I have F12 on both keyboards, then rebooted my laptop, and it worked fine on my laptop keyboard, as well as external keyboard. I imagine there are a lot of people who don't really care about the numeric keypad. But this Home key issue when using Num-Lock is kind of mind boggling that it was done this way. Has anybody tried it? Are there any consequences to doing this? Can this truly turn the Omen key into the Home key? This solution sounds like another one of those annoying things to keep track of / a gift that keeps on giving.Īt first I didn't feel too bad about getting the older 2018 style, because it saved me some $ and I don't like combo headphone-mic jack on the 2019. So then I went on a search and this is the latest thread I can find on it. That's probably why they fixed it on the 2019 version. I'll bet hp had some good in-house arguments about this one, and now those that lost the argument are saying "I TOLD YOU". To me it seems kind of arrogant, to decide the Omen key is more important than the Home key with Num-Lock. ![]() Wow, I'm just now realizing how annoying this is. Today for the first time I needed to use Num-Lock on my recently purchased Gen 2 (2018-ish) Omen 15t. Are there some step-by-step instructions that I'm overlooking? Below is my original message. But I do use Num-Lock a lot, so I would still like to try the solution, but I'm confused by it. Annoying as heck, but not quite as dire as I thought. update: I just realized that FN + Omen does work as a home key. Under the projects tab, click the build function and save the files to a usb stick. On the older computer Run the software and load an existing keyboard. It will allow you to load and modify keyboards but not save them. After 5 hours of fiddling I came to the conclusion that Win 8.1 is incapable of building the appropriate files using the aforementioned software. The easiest solution I have found for custom keyboard layouts on Win 8.1 is to use the Microsoft keyboard layout Creator 1.4 on another computer with an earlier operating system. I did find this, but I have no idea if this is something that would work for you, but for what it's worth. Hi I'm afraid that's the only idea I have. What good is that? Are there any alternatives for a locked down computer running Windows 7 or greater that don't require an installation? I looked into AutoHotKey, but it downloads as an installable file that requires admin rights to install it. Why did Microsoft take away the per-user functionality? Is there a chance of it coming back in Windows 10? Is there another solution that doesn't require administrative privileges. I literally suffer pain and need to go to doctors if I have to use the Control key in its "default" location. With more and more companies locking down their computers and not allowing local admin rights, it is becoming problematic. For some asinine reason, this was dropped in Windows 7 and remains gone in Win8. Windows XP used to allow per-user keyboard remapping by editing the same entry in HKEY_CURRENT_USER. The entry you have to edit is in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, which you need administrative rights to edit. ![]() Windows has a registry entry that allows you to remap the keyboard, but there's a wrinkle. SEE: Email Insights, First Take: A handy email search utility (ZDNet) 2: Modify the message In the absence of easy-to-use categories and flags in IMAP accounts, it’s an easy-to-implement alternative. This method has limited use because the note must be short, but you can sort, group, and search for common notes. The original subject was “Schedule QA.” With a quick glance, you can remind yourself that you’re waiting on more information from Judy before you proceed. You must open the message you can’t edit the subject in the Preview pane. Be sure to save the message when you close it. Open the message, click inside the Subject control, and type your note, as shown in Figure A. You can use this same technique to display a short note to yourself, but use this method only when you know you won’t be replying to the message, because your note will go with your reply. 1: Change the subjectĮtiquette suggests that you change the subject text when you change the topic of an existing thread. Simply substitute the flag or category name with your note text. However, both features are available in Mail. Because flags are limited and categories aren’t easily available in IMAP accounts, I’m not covering those options. There’s no demonstration downloadable file you won’t need one. So in this article, I’ll show you five ways to add meaningful information to a message. Unfortunately, annotating an Outlook message or thread isn’t easy. That way I waste far less time waiting for the “…now where was I?” haze to lift. I need to do that for many conversations at the same time. What I need is a way to annotate individual messages: I might want to track what I’ve done, what I’m doing, and what I plan to do next, within the context of that conversation. Remembering details isn’t a problem for one conversation, but multiply that effort by several and brain fog soon settles in. A thread might last for days and with each new message, I gather more information that can’t easily be added or tracked by renaming a flag or category. ![]() If you’re like me, you often need to jot down notes that are specific to an email conversation. Here are a few easy ways to add meaningful notes to your Outlook messages. ![]() The paid version has no such limits.Annotating an Outlook message or thread requires a creative approach. This makes it easy for Readgraphy to search for it later, or to export it in notes. For example, the page number or the text of what you've highlighted. It's good practice to add a few notes and tags in each highlight. It's just like how you would do it in the real world, but now it's all on your phone. Crop the book's page, and then use the different colors to highlight lines. You can take a photo immediately, or add images from the gallery. The free mobile app makes it easy to add notes while you're reading a real book. Take out your phone, snap a photo, and highlight it in Readgraphy. In the modern world, you don't need highlighter pens and sticky notes for annotations. Sometimes, you'll have to rely on physical books for your research. Rgb case fan molex connector4/7/2024 ![]() So even if it's not a top rated fan, hell, again, I suspect it will serve just fine. IIRC there's one other brand-new 120mm x 120mm x 30mm fan that also does well but I forget what it is and can't find the make or model at the moment.Īnd finally, I have piles of the stock Fractal Design Dynamic X2-series case fans here as pulls from stock Fractal Design cases in both 120mm and 140mm sizes, and we use plenty with no complaints. If you can fit slightly thicker 30mm thick fans instead of the standard 25mm thickness in your use case, the Phanteks T30-120 reviews well. Again my data is grossly insufficient here. Silent Wings 3. The be Quiet! Silent Wings 3 is also extremely well regarded but is also a premium priced fan (even if it is still a good bit cheaper than the Noctua NF-A12 PWM). I have this thing wired up to a molex and have tucked the unused signal wires into the shield that came with the cable. If the fans run at 5v, swapping the 12v / ground and 5v / ground pins on the fan 4pin molex connector is an easier option. Motherboard fan headers are three wire, power, ground and pwm/sense/rpm wire. Already fried a controller and it takes almost a full week to get another one. It is likely a two wire set-up so no speed control will be possible. Noctua NF-A12 is largely regarded as the best fan money can buy, but they're pricey and honestly most people- even discerning enthusiasts- can have an understandably hard time justifying the price. I also need the pinout for the 4 pin header on the north (opposite the 5-pin fan connectors) side. AuthorWrite something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview. ArchivesCategories |
